Aren’t people who go to therapy weak?

That’s a common misconception—but the truth is, going to therapy is a sign of strength, not weakness.

It takes courage to face your thoughts, emotions, and past experiences. It takes strength to ask for help, to be vulnerable, and to take steps toward healing and growth. Therapy is not about being “broken”—it’s about being brave enough to want better for yourself.

People from all walks of life—leaders, parents, athletes, artists, students—go to therapy. Why? Because everyone faces challenges at some point. Stress, grief, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues—these are human experiences, not personal failures.

Seeking support doesn’t make you weak. It makes you self-aware, resilient, and committed to your well-being.

If you’re considering therapy, you’re not alone—and you’re already showing strength by even thinking about it. Would you like help addressing this question directly on your website or social media, to break the stigma for others too?

What’s the difference between talking to you or my best friend or family?

A mental health professional can help you approach your situation in a new way, teach you new skills, gain different perspectives, listen to you without judgment or expectations, and help you listen to yourself.

Furthermore, counseling is completely confidential. You won’t have to worry about others “knowing my business.”

Why shouldn’t I just take medication?

At The Curative Hub, we recognize that while medication can be an important part of treatment, it’s not a complete solution on its own. True healing often requires a more holistic approach—one that addresses both the mind and body.

That’s why we integrate psychotherapy with thoughtful medication management when necessary, aiming to improve your overall quality of life. Our work together will focus on exploring and unpacking the challenges you’re facing, while also identifying and building upon your existing strengths to help you achieve your personal goals.

If it becomes clear that medication could support your progress, we will refer you to a trusted physician in the community who can assist with compassionate and professional care. At The Curative Hub, you are never alone on your journey—we’re here to support your whole self, every step of the way.

How does it work? What do I have to do in sessions?

Because each person has different issues and goals for counseling, it will be different depending on the individual or couple. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your specific needs.

How long will therapy last?

Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time counseling can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek counseling in the first place.

I want to get the most out of therapy. What can I do to help?

I am so glad you are dedicated to getting the most out of your sessions! Your active participation and dedication will be crucial to your success.
